Writing exercises are a way of expressing feelings and can also distract you from wanting to self-injure. Click here to view some writing exercises.

The self-harm spectrum gives a way that you can think about self-care and self-harm two sides of the same coin. You can look at your behaviour and think about ways to promote your own self-care.

The Rainbow Journal is a book aimed at helping young people move from self-harm to self-care. It has blank pages for writing about feelings and for drawing. It includes artwork, quotes and poems by young people who self-injure. Individual copies are free when ordered by under 18's. It's £8 if you are 18 or over. Self-help for Self-injury is a booklet is for any woman who is struggling with self-injury. It aims to help a woman to understand and tackle what causes her to want to hurt herself. Price £5
