The Grafham Relay Route

The Grafham Relay takes place around Grafham Water and covers a total distance of approx 9 miles. Each leg being a distance of 1 mile or there abouts.

This informal, fun event is only open to Biggleswade AC members with a trophy awarded to the fastest team.


Start
Leg 1
Start on the cycle route near the Bike Hire Shop. Follow the cycle route into the woods along and through the gate then up the road until junction of Church Road and Church Hill.

Leg 2
From the junction of Church Road and Church Hill, head down the hill on road. When you reach the small car park at the end of the road continue to the far end and you will see a metal gate that has a blue and white sign next to it saying "CYCLE ROUTE BRIDLEWAY" - this is the changeover point.

Leg 3
Follow the cycle route along the side of the reservoir, then up the hill through the woods. When you come out of the woods continue on the cycle path to the wooden bridge - this is changeover point.

Leg 4
From the bridge stay on the cycle route. Run through woods until you reach a small clearing. On one side of this clearing is a printed "NO CYCLES" sign (fixed to a post with a wildlife trust sign on). On the other is a sign with a picture of a bicycle on it - this is changeover point.

From the clearing in the woods stay on cycle route until you reach the gate by the car park - this is changeover point.

From the car park follow cycle route (sometimes on a busy road). When you turn left away from the main road to follow the cycle path, after about 15 metres there is a gate on the right hand side - this is the changeover point.

From the gate follow cycle route until you reach the next gate at the beginning of the dam - this is changeover point.

From the gate at the start of the dam, run along the cycle route (at the bottom of dam) until you reach the gate near the Visitor Centre - this is the Finish!

Finish
