The Woodcraft Folk is a national voluntary childrens' and youth organisation for boys and girls. The principles of co-operation, equality, democracy and peace are emphasised throughout its activities

 Harrogate District Woodcraft Folk was originally formed in 1987. At its height it comprised two Elfin (ages 6-9), two Pioneer (ages 9-12) and a Venturer (ages 13-15) groups.
In December 2001, the decision to close the last (Elfin) group was reluctantly taken owing to a steady decline in numbers.

But there is now a strong possibility of a Woodcraft Folk group reforming in Harrogate from Sepember 2003 initially concentrating on the younger age groups.
