ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS &
CONTRACTS
ELECTRIC MOTORS, REWINDS & REPAIRS
By 1998, John McNicol & Co.will have been serving the electrical
needs of West Central Scotland
for over 80 years. Years ago, we helped transform the Glasgow
Underground from rope hauled to
electric traction, then we helped customers convert from DC to AC power
after the war. These days,
as Britain aligns with Europe, we are able to assure customers that
no action needs to be taken now
that the stated voltage has dropped from 240 volts to 230 volts!
The change is in the tolerances not
the line pressure, although who can say where we'll be in 10 years
time? That said, some equipment
is still being supplied within the UK
that is not compatible with the stipulated voltage bands. Anyway...
We would be pleased to quote for any electrical requirements that you
may have. Power, Lighting, New
Machines, etc. We can design and quote an electrical system or
price your tender documents. We work
closely with many Architects, Engineers and Project Managers and have
become used to quick turnaround
projects. Trunking conduit and cable, tray and SWA, MICC,
cable basket and
FP200. All aspects and
areas of electrical works undertaken. We rewind and repair electric
motors and rotating machines (in situ
sometimes). We can carry out mechanical repairs, including dynamic
balancing, in our machine shop.
Being manufacturer's accredited agents, we sell new electric motors
and the associated control gear.

Our 50 strong workforce are committed to electrical excellence and would
be pleased to assist you
with your projects. Probably best phone or fax, as e.mail is not suitable
for the complexities of
installation & construction work just yet. We are members of the
NIC
EIC, SELECT and AEMT and
are currently training 15 apprentice electricians to keep the lights
on when we're in our dotage.....
Another sunny day in Elliot Street.
