"A drunken man walks in a way that is quite impossible for a sober
man to imitate, and vice versa. An evil man has a way, no matter
how clever--to the trained eye, his way will show itself.
"Am I being too secretive? No. One can never answer questions at
the wrong moment. Life, like music, has a rhythm. This particular
song will end with three sharp notes, like deathly drumbeats."
- Laura and Ronnette arranged to meet Jaques and Leo. They went up to Jaques' cabin. Laura
had sex with both Leo and Jaques. Waldo attacked her in a fit of jealously. The plastic
fragment was from a One Eyed Jack's poker chip that Leo told her to bite. Leo hit Jaques,
Jaques passed out, and when he awoke, Leo and the girls had gone.
- Leyland Palmer, his mental state deteriorating rapidly, has killed Jaques Renault.
- Doctor Jacoby sufferred a heart attack when he was attacked.
- Leo left Shelley to die in the mill, which he set alight. Both Shelley and Catherine were
in the mill, attempting to escape. Pete Martell entered the burning building looking for
Catherine.
- Cooper was shot, probably by Doctor Jacoby's assailant.
- Hank murdered Andrew Packard on Josie's orders. He went to prison to cover his tracks, and
was paid $90,000 by Josie. However, he still wants more, and is prepared to blackmail her
to get it.
- Hank has shot Leo Johnson, (on Ben Horne's orders) after Leo set the mill alight.
- Waldo was shot by Leo.
- Bobby Briggs saw Hank shoot Leo.
- Cooper believes that Leo was Laura's killer.
- Who killed Laura Palmer? (See "Lonely Souls").
- Who shot agent Cooper?
- Who attacked Doctor Jacoby?
- Who was the "mystery man" that Laura spoke of?
- How did Leyland know that it was Jaques that had been arrested for Laura's murder, and
not Doctor Jacoby?
- Will Catherine, Shelley and Pete escape the fire?
- Is Leo dead? Will Bobby tell the Police that it was Hank?
- Who killed Laura Palmer?
All the evidence still points to Leo Johnson, with the involvement of Jaques Renault. The
girls apparently went willingly to Jaques' cabin, and were taken away afterwards by Leo,
unless there was a third, as yet unmentioned, man at Jaque's cabin. Perhaps this is Laura's
"mystery man".
- Who shot Agent Cooper?
From the asailant's clothing, it seems likely that it was the same man who attacked Doctor
Jacoby. Perhaps it was Leo Johnson, who felt Cooper was getting too close? Leyland
Palmer saw Maddy leave, disguised as Laura. He might have attacked Jacoby to protect her.
However, why would Leyland shoot Cooper, unless he was the killer himself trying to cover
his tracks? Given Leyland's character so far, this seems highly unlikely.
