"Sometimes we want to hide from ourselves--we do not want to
be us--it is too difficult to be us. It is at these times that
we turn to drugs or alcohol or behavior to help us forget that
we are ourselves.
"This of course is only a temporary solution to a problem which
is going to keep returning, and sometimes these temporary
solutions are worse for us than the original problem.
"Yes, it is a dilemma. Is there an answer? Of course there is:
as a wise person said with a smile: 'The answer is within the
question.'"
- Harold Smith has gone mad. Donna and Maddy were rescued from him by James.
- Bobby and Shelley take out their vengeance on the comatose Leo by humiliating him.
- Gordon Cole (played by serise creator, David Lynch!) is Cooper's direct superior, and comes
to Twin Peaks to warn Cooper of Windom Earle.
- Windom Earle has sent an opening chess move.
- Josie has closed her negotiations with Ben Horne and has left town, despite desperate pleas
from Harry.
- Mike is hunting down "BOB" so as to stop him from killing again. "BOB" is a spirit who takes
over peoples' bodies and uses them to feed. His hosts are called "children". "BOB"'s food is
fear and the "pleasures".
- "BOB" is now at the Great Northern Hotel.
- Mike, like "BOB", is an "inhabiting spirit", who has been using Gerard's body to track down
"BOB", who was once his "familiar".
- Who killed Laura Palmer? (See "Lonely Souls").
- Who is "BOB"'s current host?
- Why did Windom Earle send Cooper a chess move?
- What will Harold Smith do now that he is "unclean"?
- Josie obviously did not want to leave. Why did she have to go?
- Who killed Laura Palmer?
All the evidence seems to point to Ben Horne. He was in love with Laura, and is clearly not
above murdering someone to protect himself. Was he the third man at Jaques' cabin? Or is it that
he is possessed by "BOB"?
- Who was at the Great Northern at the time? The only major characters present were, aparently,
Ben Horne, Leland Palmer, Tajamura and Pete Martell, although Jerry, Johnny, Audrey and Sylvia
Horne were probably also there.
