The top end model

Description

Laminar ST is ICARO 2000's trademark of the super glider, an evolution of the very successful well known model. ST stands for Senza Torre, the italian words translating kingpostless.
The result of this developement is a superb wing, responding to pilots' highest performance demands, but still easy in handling.
The crossbars are made of carbon composite, and attached to the frame through a special joint involving aeronautics technology; the frame, as usual, is made of the best tubes available, produced in aluminium alloy 7075 by Alumenziken (Switzerland).

Laminar ST most outstanding features are :

improved efficiency at speeds ranging from medium to high
improved max speed, and less time to reach it
improved stability at high speed
amazingly easy handling, more agreable when turning
integrated battens

Versions

There is a basic model and several options Customers may choose from in order to have the glider that better suits their needs and tastes.
Below you'll find an explanation of the different versions to make it easier understanding and placing orders.

ST basic
A glider to fly for pleasure
Dacron sail, DHV certified, smaller nose angle, better handling than other ST models

Mylar Supplement basic model with a mylar sail, DHV certified, greater nose angle: a competitive glider!

ST  deluxe
Definitely a luxury glider! Exclusive sail design.

DHV certified. Either mylar (supplement applies) or dacron sail  by Pause (the German Sailmaker who develops our sails together with Manfred).
Some improvements on the basic sail model (i.e. double sewing on batten pockets, radial seams near keel pocket).

ST MR2000 look at Manfred's considerations about it
The ultimate competition glider!

The same implementation used by Manfred Ruhmer with his latest improvements, not DHV certified  ( note: this does not mean it is a dangerous glider! Manfred will never tune a glider to be dangerous, it would be just dumb! Still, the extra advice given by him regarding how to fly this model must be followed).
During the last World Championships, Manfred (1st) and André Wolf (2nd), flew this model.
