This page includes a number of links to sites of interest on the World Wide Web. It makes no claim to being complete or definitive - it's just a collection of links that we hope you will find useful or informative.
There are a number of WWW sites carrying transport links, of which the following are a selection. Note that some of the more general sites listed below also include links.
- Transportation Resources - Systems A fairly comprehensive listing of user-oriented North American transport sites, covering Highways, Transit and Passenger Rail, together with a similar, but slightly less comprehensive worldwide list. Compiled by Princeton University.
- UK Public Transport Information A list from Austin Analytics, that does just what it says. Includes Airlines and Airports, Ferries etc, plus preserved railway lines.
- The Transport Web Covers more ground in less depth than the above; UK based with a world-wide perspective. Includes freight transport, and a transport software index.
- University of Leeds Institute for Transport; WWW pages for transport researchers A dauntingly large list of transportation resources around the world, mainly from the academic and/or research angle.
- Scotland.org - Scotland on the Internet Not particularly transport-related, but an excellent guide to Scotland on the WWW.

New sites in this category are appearing all the time - three of the sites below are less than four months old. If you have any favourites that I've missed out, please let me know.
- London Transport Home Page A relatively new site from LT, still under construction when I last visited. Fairly comprehensive, as long as you don't want detailed travel information!
- Buckinghamshire Travel Information An excellent attempt to provide comprehensive travel information for a mixed urban and rural area, with maps and timetables.
- National Express This site not only allows you to plan journeys on National Express coaches, but to book them too.
- Railtrack UK Rail Planner At long last, a comprehensive source of UK rail timetable information, in "journey planner" format. Not perfect, perhaps, but pretty good.
- European Railway Planner Same sort of thing, but for the whole of Europe, including the UK. Unlike the above, summarises several travel opportunities on one screen.
- Greyhound Lines, Inc A very comprehensive presentation from "The Dog", including (but by no means limited to) a journey planner for the company's US motorcoach network. Includes some useful links to other sites.
- Greyhound Canada Home Page Same sort of thing north of the 49th parallel - except that Greyhound Canada run air services too.
- Subway Navigator Find your way around the world's metro systems.
- TMB: Barcelona Public Transport Information Included as much because I like Barcelona as because it's a good site - and yes, you can follow it in English if your Catalan's not too good.
- Curitiba: The Busway City Curitiba, in southern Brazil, is worthy of attention from all urban and transport planners. It's system of busways - a "surface metro" - is quite unique, and it's not only in respect of transport that Curitiba's exceptional. There will be more about Curitiba on this AHA Web Site before long, but meanwhile more information on Curitiba can be found on pages linked to the above one. Other web sites on Curitiba include Cidade de Curitiba (in English - just about), and Voyage Publishing, looking at Air Quality aspects in particular.
- Public Purpose - the Wendell Cox Consultancy Web Site The Wendell Cox consultancy specialises in studies of efficiency gains from contracting-out transit operation. The site includes much interesting data and other documents.
- Federal Transit Administration - lots of information, and megabytes of data, about urban transit (public transport) in the US. For operating data, follow the link to "National Transit Library".
- UK Department of Transport Press Releases A lot of press releases over the last couple of years, with much useful data; not searchable, though.
- The London Bus Page An excellent "enthusiast's" site.
- Route 66 Society Fascinating, and good to look at too.

- UK Open Government Site Took me a while to find this, which is a pity because it has an enormous amount of government information.
- UK Local Government On-Line Useful, but a lot of Local Authorities haven't discovered the Internet yet.
- New UK Official Publications Online Not quite sure of the significance of the "New", but a useful searchable data resource.
- New Scottish Councils A very useful guide to the new (April 1996) Scottish Councils.
Nothing to do with transport - but everything to do with celebrating the millenium by releasing one billion people in the world's poorest countries from the burden of international debt. Please follow this link to find out more about this important project.
