
Webster's System Requirements
Webster currently requires the following of your machine.
- Memory
- 2MB Minimum. (You need a TCPIP stack running as well as Webster, so this will be very tight)
- 4MB Reccommended.
- A hard Disc
- Webster it's self requires less then 1Mb, but a decent size Cache for the images and pages will require several Megabytes.
- 640x480 screen with 16 or more colours
- Ideally you should use the highest available resolution that supports 256 colours.
- For Network (Internet) access ...
- Either TCPIP (Also called KA9Q) It's Probably on the machine that you got this from.
- Version 2.01 (or later)
- Webster comes setup to use this.
- OR FreeNet
- Version 1.02 or later
- You need to use
Standard
Fetchers. One called FreeWeb is supplied, or you can use AcrWebTCP.
- OR Acorn's TCP/IP
- This is probably available from ftp.acorn.co.uk.
- A fixed pitch font.
- Several HTML styles should use a fixed width font. Use the
Font Setup
to pick your font. (Not vital)
