Webster Version 0.20d
This version of Webster is the second non-test version to support frames, it contains fixes for bugs in 0.20c. Between 0.16 and 0.20 there has been a large internal re-organisation. Just in case this re-organisation is incorrect Version 0.16 is still available.
Bug fixes in 0.20d
- Toggling window size caused the toolbar to be temporarily made too long.
- Small problem, the number of parameters in an array, with Saving Font settings has been fixed.
- Blockquotes should now cause indenting correctly. It was being ignored after certain tags.
- Using the <UL> tag to do indents should now work. (Although it's still not a good idea in my oppinion as strictly speaking it's
illegal
HTML).
- Closing a window containing a frame that also contains another set of frames didn't close the frames within the frame.
- Frames sometimes overlaped.
- Also a frame that contains a file containing other frames didn't work.
- FreeWeb 0.15 or later, which is part of Webster's Archive, should now work with ANT's TPC/IP stack.
- You no longer get 'Heap has been overwritten' errors when frames are fetched.
- When Webster crashes it may have left files open so you couldn't just run it again.
- You couldn't save a page in any format!
- Links with a 'Target' of '_parent' loaded the page into the frame containing the link, rather than the parent frame or window.
- Links that covered several lines, or contained changes of font were only followed if you clicked on the very beginning or very end.
- The PRE tag now supports contents made up of long lines containing lots of 's and <BR> etc. tags to do the formatting (As on Netscape's JavaScript description pages).
- The fixing of background images that have a transparent background so they don't have a transparent background, so they can be displayed properly, should now be much faster.
- The BIG and SMALL tags now work correctly (I think).
- Put the 'Align' parameter back into the table tag. I'm not sure this is implemented correctly, so use it with care.
- Now Loads files of type &B61 as X BitMaps (I've Found a CD with this as the filetype for these images)
- Clicking on a link that points to an image should no longer give 'Handle is either illegal or has been closed' errors.
Bug fixes in 0.20c
- Fixed 'Missing )' and 'Missing Variable' errors in tables.
- Better alignment of text in tables.
- Fixed Circles and Polygons in Client side image maps.
- Moving backwards and Forwards between pages should take you back to where you where when you left the page again.
- Now compatable with RISC Basic. Although it has not been tested in compiled form.
- Some times missed FORM tags, especially in the middle of long lines.
Improvements and additions since 0.16
- Better alignment of text in tables.
- Added the cellspacing parameter to tables. This allows the gap between text and a table border to be controlled.
- The Border and CellPadding parameters for tables are now implemented correctly. Although the border does not yet draw to the required width.
- The beginnings of support for Frames. Basic frames are supported and working, as should the
TARGET
attribute for specifying link destinations. However frames are not currently resizable without reloading the original page that created the frames.
- Supports animated Sprites, and GIFs with an appropriate decoder. (Tip, InterGif 5 produces sprite files of the right format)
- Moving Backwards and Forwards between pages should take you back to the the position in the page where you left the page.
