Tam’s journey starts at the Inn in Ayr High Street now called after him. It proceeds along a road before entering Belle Isle Park. It continues through picturesque woodland with views over the sea to Arran with a further short pavement walk before entering Cambusdoon where he road his horse Meg beside the River Doon. He stops to watch the witches at Alloway Auld Haunted Kirk before being chased over The Brig O’Doon
