Shinaig

Shinaig are a band of young talent fusing traditional Celtic folk, country and Ceilidh music with good old rock and roll producing one of the finest and exciting sounds to emerge in the new wave of Celtic Rock.


Their debut album "The Hills of Clare" highlights the immense songwriting talent of front man, mad man and "band Daddy" Dairmaid Hines.

An evening with Shinaig can lead anywhere. From a "full in yer face" dance set with storming jigs and reels to a full blown rock and roll set Shinaig never fail to leave an audience crying out for more. It is this punter appreciation which has lead to a full book up until March 1998, offers to play in many festivals during 1997 and 1998, and their signing to Kinvara Records.

In the nearer future they are due to play a series of concerts in Azarbaijan and they are of on promotional tours for both Guinness and Beamish Red thoughout the UK later this year.

Diarmaid Hynes

Having been a member of well known Celtic band "The Poor Boys" and the Reggae Band fronted by Bob Marley's bassman "Uncle Gordon and The Authentics", Dairmaid has played all the main stages like Knebworth, Glastonbury, Womad etc.
