Don't pretend you don't know what is meant by copyright.
It means I own these pages and you have no right to copy them.

There have been twenty two instances of copyright infringement of the "yourguide" sites that I know of. Seven of those were in 2000, two in 2001 but only one in 2002 and one in 2003. Mostly this has taken the form of illegal use of my pictures. One was the use of a map that I used under licence. One was a series of links to my internal pages giving the impression that the owner of the home page was their author. In the early days there was a complete cut-and-paste of an entire site that was republished with only the word "yourguide" replaced by "xxxx Town Council" !

I always pursue these infringements. In most instances, I am happy to say the offenders have put things right straight away. Mostly they claim to have not realised they were doing anything wrong! Only once have I received abusive replies (replies because he got his mate to send a letter as well) Where I have had a negative response, I have contacted the service provider. Each time the site was closed down immediately. They too want to protect their reputations.

Except in a few instances, which are acknowledged, all of the "yourguide" pages are my own work produced and published at my own expense and I receive no income from them. I am not about to let anyone steal that work and take the credit.

2005 and it was still happening. Blogger is not the name I'd use for the person using one of my pictures on his Chippenham site!

Several sites around the world use my pictures with permission, I rarely refuse if asked.
