The BRITISH YOUNG LADIES AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION
was founded in June 1979 to promote friendship among lady operators as we were (and probably still are) in the minority. This extends to YL's in other countries and we have a sponsorship programme, which enables us to exchange magazines, and to get to know our own 'personal' YL and this fosters friendship across the world.
BYLARA has regular nets
MONDAY 19.45 local on 3.708
WEDNESDAY 11.30 LOCAL 7.050 - 7.090
FRIDAY 11.30 LOCAL 7.050 - 7.090
|
We also have activity days whereby any YL can call 'CQ YL' on the hour on frequencies ending in 88.
There are also other international nets and the frequencies and times can be found in the BYLARA magazine.
At quite a few of the rallies we will have a get together and put faces to call signs, which can be fun.
Last year (2000) we had a special meeting at Elvaston Castle to celebrate our 21st birthday.
For those YL's who like contests, we have those as well and the association has the official callsign:- M0BYL
