ANN'S KNITTING PAGE

Knitting From an early age I was surrounded by knitting as my mother, grandmother and aunts all made socks, jumpers, cardigans and anything else that could be knitted. It was therefore expected that at the appropriate age ( 7 for making doll's clothes) I too would carry on. The first garment was a VERY LONG NAVY BLUE SCHOOL JUMPER for school. I am surprised that my eyes recovered afterwards.

My knitting has come a long way since those days of unpicking and washing wool to make something else. Over the years I progressed to knitting machines; first came a BOND advertised for thick and hand-spun wool (more of that in another section). It could have put me off but I next went to a BROTHER CHUNKY, then the ELECTRONIC CHUNKY, the PFAFF 6000 and my present BROTHER 965i. Somewhere in there was a TOYOTA and a BROTHER 950i. I knit for my family and the younger grandchildren and am very lucky to have a ready source of coned wool from my friend's wool barn.
