The present menagerie consists of 'Lady' a cross whippet/border collie and she is soon to be 13 years. Next comes 'Abbie', a bits and pieces dog who came from a rescue centre and she is about 3 years old and this age gap can make dog walking a bit difficult.
The dogs are followed by the 3 cats, 'Fluffy' who is about 3 and is a cross between a Norwegian forest cat and who knows what else. His name is very appropriate as his hair is very long and thick and needs loads of grooming.
The twins came next and they are 7 months old. We called them 'Florence' and 'Zebedee' and this will date us if anybody remembers watching The Magic Roundabout
TV
program for children. Last of the indoor pets are the boys, 2 chinchillas who would eat
their way through the house and leave us with no wires, wallpaper, wood or anything else that looks remotely edible.
Out in the garden we have 3 ancient quails, many fish in the pond, an assortment of chickens and 3 cockerels (who quite happily wake us and the
neighbourhood at a very unsocial hour each day!). In the spring our garden pond is blessed!! with at least 15 pairs of frogs, doing what frogs do with a lot of noise that guarantees no sleep. Somewhere out there is a family of toads who go on a nightly jaunt in the good weather, and we have yet to find out where they live during the day.
The photograph of the house does not show the size of plot that is around the house. It is about 1/3 of an acre, the front garden being used for vegetables that last quite a long time, and the back garden is patio, lawn with mole hills, chicken areas, raised beds for when we are too decrepit to bend down, and the large pond. Also there is a double garage, two large engineering workshops and several other outbuildings.
Now that we have got our priorities right we shall tell you a little about ourselves. Clive is a self employed electronics/computer consultant who can spend many an hour on the end of the phone helping when a computer is doing what it wants and not what the owner of the said beast wants. He also runs a small engineering business. When he has any spare time then
construction, DIY, car maintenance and gardening take over, along with filling every available space with things that will be "useful one day". Do any
ladies out there recognise this sort of husband?
I have been a podietrist, aromatherapist and reflexologist for many years. The first two have now taken a back seat as I now specialise in reflexology for pregnancy, labour and also people with special needs.
The area that we live in is an area of outstanding beauty in the heart of East Sussex on the south coast of England. We are 16 miles north of Eastbourne, and the same mileage south of Royal Tunbridge Wells, a famous spa town. Hastings and Battle (with its Abbey) are also quite close. The large town of Brighton is also not too far away from this area and known for its famous Royal
Pavillion.
As you can see from the main page we have quite a varied hobby list and hope that you will enjoy seeing the pages and going to what we hope will be many interesting link sites.
We are both licensed Radio Amateurs, both enjoy Computers and then, hobbywise, part company.
Ann.
