Sorry - sold (14 Sept 06) BMW R100RT (1980) 38k miles ... £2300 ono

This 1980 bike is in exceptional condition mechanically and cosmetically (black). It is taxed and tested until December 2006. It has BMW luggage, full fairing, dual front disc, single rear disc and a Surefoot sidestand allowing easy use from the seated position.

No expense has been spared on its upkeep - even to the point of stainless fasteners and new rocker covers. It is quite outstanding.

The gearbox and clutch are very light and smooth, and there's little vibration all the way up to 80mph (I've not taken it higher). The heads have been converted for unleaded petrol.

The carbs have been overhauled and recently balanced: they are spot-on. The latest Boyer Bransden electronic ignition has been fitted by me, and the engine is lively and reliable

Silencers are stainless. Voltmeter and clock are fitted, plus heated grips and cigar lighter! There's also an auxiliary socket for charging and power take-off. Mileage is 38,149 (26 July 06). There is a full toolkit, tyre pump and even the original first-aid kit.

I am a very reluctant seller but I've just bought a 1959 R60 combination which together with my other two BMWs more than fills the garage. I can't move!
