Port Erin & The South-west

Port Erin is a small village in the south-west corner of the Island, built around a bay bordered by high cliffs and jagged rocks. the beach is broad and sandy, perhaps the finest beach on the island. In the 19th century the village was a small fishing community which quickly came to prominence as a tourist destination, many hotels and guest houses being built.

Bradda Head & Tower

Bradda Head marks the Northern limit of Port Erin bay and rises several hundred feet from sea-level.

Close-Up Of The Tower

A much closer view of the tower on top of Bradda Head. Built of local stone in the last century the monument stands at the highest point of the headland.

Port erin From Atop The Tower

This picture was taken from the top of the tower on a fine day. You can see the expanse of the beach in the foreground and further into the distance the expanse of Port St Mary bay across the Isthmus.
