Inge Thomson

Inge Thomson, from a musical family, started playing traditional music at an early age.  She met James whilst at high school and cut her ‘gigging’ teeth in ‘Strange Conspiracy’.  Inge attended college in Aberdeen and in 1992 joined the ‘Native Sons’ which were to later become ‘Drop The Box’

In 2000 Inge teamed up with four of Scotland’s finest tunes players to form contemporary/trad band Harem Scarem who tour steadily world-wide, playing such prestigious festivals as Canada’s Celtic Colours, Celtic Connections, Edinburgh Fringe, where, in 2003 they won the much coveted “Tap Water Award” for best band.

Having a recording history with numerous groups including Jim Sutherlands “Cold Weather Dancing”, The Broken Family Band,  Sharon King, Alibi Cafe, in addition to this, her involvement in projects such as The International Unusual Suspects, and Rick Taylor’s latest musical movements proves she is also a much sought after session musician.

Inge has recently joined The Karine Polwart Band; winner of three 2005 Radio 2 folk awards. They look set to be touring world-wide this year, being just back from Oman and Armenia, Inge also become the latest guest singer with esteemed Danish duo ‘Fromseier-Rose’, who toured Scotland in April and are scheduled to tour Denmark in the Autumn.
