Thank you!
The Alzheimer's Society in Durham & Chester-le-Street had a superb response to its Silver Jubilee appeal.
The branch raised £5000 to create a Sensory Room at its DayCare Centre at "The Green", Nettlesworth. The Durham Passport office chipped in with a huge £500 to get the appeal started and that really set the ball rolling! Thanks to local publicity, the appeal quickly reached £2400, and the remaining £2600 has now been raised!

The Sensory Room with the equipment purchased will help people with dementia retain their faculties as long as possible as well as providing stimulation and enjoyment. Day Care Manager Debbie Keenan said, "This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Alzheimer's Society and we think this is a fitting project to mark this occasion."
Work on the room is almost complete and the branch hopes to have an official opening in the near future.
