Branch joins the Information Super-Highway!

- with a little help from our friends.

Our web site has already received some favourable comment, including from National Office, and from Dr Richard J Harvey MD MRCPsych., Alzheimer's Society Research Fellow Institute of Neurology, London. It contains information about how the branch can help and the various services the branch offers. But in addition to that, there are pages of information about Alzheimer's and Dementia, as well as advice for Carers, and contacts at both national and branch for help and advice.

Presenting the modem

We were helped during national Alzheimer's Awareness when we were presented with a modem by Nectar of Mill Road, Langley Moor, near Durham City. Ray Broadbridge, the Managing Director of Nectar went to the branch's office in Bullion Lane, Chester-le-Street to present the modem to Councillor Sheila Hubbard, Chair person of the branch and to Jennifer Brown, Branch Co-ordinator. Mr. Broadbridge said, "We are happy to help in this way, and I am sure that the branch will find the Internet a great resource to help in their work."

Councillor Hubbard said, "Computers are becoming more and more important, and this is another forward step for the branch, helping to improve and expand its work for its clients and their carers."
