There was pie, peas, fun and games at the recent packed Pie 'n' Peas Supper held by the Durham and Chester-le-Street branch of the Alzheimer's Society at their headquarters in Bullion Lane, Chester-le-Street for members in the area, carers and workers.

The pie 'n' peas was in fact a three-course meal, and was followed by a word quiz led by Viv Cowell, and there was much hilarity when the challenged by Janet Creighton to make models out of balloons was issued. It was a struggle to bend them to shape without them bursting!

Branch Co-ordinator Jennifer Brown said, "It was a really good evening and everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was primarily a social occasion rather than a fund-raiser, but we made a little bit to go to the vital work of the society in Durham and Chester-le-Street."

Book of Remembrance

We would like to invite you to make an entry into our Book of Remembrance which Doris Wardle, herself a former carer, has kindly made and donated to the Branch.

Over the years we have had the pleasure and privilege to share the lives of so many people who are now sadly no longer with us. We never forget our friends but now we are able to enter their names and a photograph as a lasting reminder for everyone.

If you would like the memory of your loved one to live on in our book, please ring us on 0191 389 0400, or send us a photograph and a few words which Doris will kindly enter on your behalf.

We would also be pleased to see you at the office if you would like to make the entry yourself but please ring to make sure a member of staff is available.
