The Day Care service provided by the Durham and Chester-le-Street Branch of the Alzheimer's Society is funded by County Durham Social Services.

We now operate all our Daycare in a new centre at Nettlesworth, conveniently between Durham and Chester-le-Street.

We have places for twelve clients a day, offering sixty places in all.

A wide variety of activities provides physical and mental stimulation, as well as fun and enjoyment. Some of the more popular activities are: rollerball, quoits, darts (safety) and carpet bowls. Many enjoy a word game or quiz and almost everyone likes a good sing-song.

All our staff are experienced and well trained. We have an on-going training programme to keep everyone up to date.

There are three members of staff in the Day Care at any one time. We are also very fortunate in having excellent volunteers who are all experienced.

There is always an escort on the bus to accompany clients to Day Care.
