Support for Gay & Lesbian Carers

The national Alzheimer's Society has launched a new service for gay people caring for people with dementia. New telephone contacts, themselves gay, have personal experience of caring for a loved one with dementia.

Gay carers face all sorts of additional extra barriers and stigma, apart from those often associated with caring for a person with dementia.

The numbers are:

Arthur: 01273 628047

Roger: 01843 220932

Bruce: 01865 847471

Sally: 020 8675 0660

The Alzheimer's Society is keen to extend this service and would like to recruit more carer's contacts, particularly for lesbians. If you would like to know more, contact national office on 020 7306 0606 or email info@alzheimers.org.uk
