The Partial Phase 60 - 70 minutes

The three images below show the progress of the moon's disk as it continues to pass in front of the sun. The images are 60, 65 and 70 minutes since the start of the eclipse

Even though a significant proportion of the sun's disk is covered the loss in light from the sun is still not that noticeable. This is because the eye adapts to the lower light level and masks the effect. The radiation received from the sun is noticeable colder, although the air temperature has not had time to drop measurably.
