Llandrillo Wedding

On the afternoon of Saturday, 1st September, I grabbed my camera and headed off down the road to Llandrillo as Child was to be chief bridesmaid for her friend Jill and this was to be no ordinary wedding. For a start Child was to be "Best Woman" - making the speech at the reception as the Best Man had said that he could not possibly stand up and speak in front of all those people; perhaps because he would be wearing period costume - but then so would everyone else (from Mediaeval to Restoration).

Parking was a problem as there was also a Produce Show (or something similar) in the Community Centre by the Chapel, but I eventually found a place and walked back towards the chapel to discover that iI had, unfortunately, missed the arrival of the groom (so sorry no pics until I grab child's camera). I could see a crowd gathering outside the Dudley so I returned to the carpark to photograph them walking over the footbridge.

Admittedly some were looking a little self conscious, but Jill had insisted that everyone would be in costume and brooked no argument by providing all the costumes, no problem as she and her mother run a costume company and have made literally thousands of historical outfits for banquets and weddings and also fancy dress.

I think there had been a coachful from Corwen who had visited the pub before making their way to the chapel for there was quite a crowd coming over the bridge and a followed them on to the chapel.
