A bit about us

Brief History

In 1994 about 15 of us left a local Church, and under the direction of Simon Matthews at Plumbline Ministries, set up FCC.

Initially we met with Huntingdonshire Community Church in Huntingdon, (Plumbline Ministries) but in 1995, started to meet in March.

The early few years were not very stable, and after about 2 years we were down to our family, our cat plus our musician!

Since then, we have steadily grown, but not with traditional members! Approximately 60% of our attendees on a Sunday morning, are adults with a learning disability. Our fellowship is currently centred on these people and their needs.

Numbers on a Sunday morning now vary between 9 and 25. However, for us, church, or being a Christian, is not just Sunday morning. It is all the week.

Many of our folk cannot get out to any meeting, so we go to them. What we do in our groups is described here. In any one week, the numbers that we come into contact with can be anything from 18 - 52.

Currently the fellowship is run by Edward & Marilyn Kerr. You can contact us here.

What we believe

  • Jesus is the Son of God. He died on a cross for you and me, so, if we believe in Him, we can have a personal relationship with him. We can be his friend. And when we die we will go to be with Him forever - heaven.
  • As a result of this friendship we will want to do what Jesus asks us to.
  • This will mean that the demands He makes on our lives will not be seen as religious requirements to earn God's favour, but as requests from our friend. Nevertheless ...
  • Changing the way we live, and get on with other people, is hard work - believe me! Jesus has given us His Holy Spirit who helps us.
