The Groups we run
Most of our folk have a learning disability, so most of our activity
is adapted for them.
I am compiling a list of resources
which you may find useful.
Sunday Services
- Our Sunday services are very relaxed and we are happy to have
folk of all disabilities and none.
- We meet in the scout hall, at the back of Sainsbury´s. It
has excellent wheelchair access to the hall, but wheelchairs cannot
get into the toliets. Multimap
link showing the scout hall where we meet.
- We do not have a loop induction at the moment, but would purchase
one if necesary.
- We are learning to use Makaton
signing as an extra to worship. We also use the symbols
- We encourage folk to use flags and percussion instruments as their
way of worshipping.
- We regularly use a laptop and projector to enhance what we are
doing - projecting photos, clipart, makaton symbols, etc
- Some of what we learned is here.
Please use the material if you wish.
Monthly Prayer meeting
- This is held in our home, and is a popular time together.
- We encourage everyone to pray, and help them if they want.
- We do as much as we can to make our prayer topics down to earth
and understood. Occasionally we make things to send to folk we have
prayed for.
Groups in residential homes
We run groups in eight residential homes
