8th April - Margaret Elliott
To demonstrate what she was getting at, we planted some seeds. (See
photos below)
Margaret made the following points:
- Even in the dark times, growth is there, even though you cannot
necessarily see it.
- Growth takes time and patience!
- Once growth starts, you cannot stop it. Once sown, a seed WILL
grow.
- As God's people we WILL produce life and fruit - it is inevitable
- At this Easter time, we remember that Jesus died. Out of that
darkness and death, glorious new life came.
- Faith comes before the evidence of the resurrection. Early Christians
were baptised on the Saturday prior to Easter Sunday, as a statement
of their faith in the resurrection
- Do we really want to know Jesus? Are we like the crowd on Palm
Sunday - or the few at the foot of the cross?
- True discipleship is about standing with Jesus at the foot of
the cross.
