Accommodation Options
1. Tents, Camper Vans, Caravans.
There are 2 large grass areas available for camping a) centre course opposite the Nelson Stand (no. 5 on the course plan – see the website) and b) to the east (left as you arrive) of the buildings complex (no.35 / 36 on the plan). Cars may be parked beside your tent and camper vans are also permitted in these areas.
There is a large area of hard standing suitable for caravans and camper vans to the left of the car park (no.33 on the plan).
There will be signs or someone to direct you as you arrive.
Dogs are permitted in the racecourse camping areas but please make sure you clean up after them.
Power. Power connections are not available in the above car park area.
If you want power for your caravan / camper the only option is to use the caravan site the entrance of which is on the right as you arrive at the racecourse.
The site is owned by the Camping and Caravanning Club although Club membership is not necessary.

Current cost for car + caravan or tent & 2 adults is £16.80 per night for Club members and £22.80 for non members.
Duration of Stay. You may arrive at the racecourse from Thursday afternoon onwards and last departures will be on the Tuesday morning. If you want to extend your stay in Perth and make a longer holiday of it, you can book into the adjacent caravan site – details above.
2. Crash Space.
The “Club Lawn Marquee” (no.21 on the site plan) is available as crash space. You will need a camp / air bed and sleeping bag.
3. The Jockeys’ Hostel.
Location. The Jockeys’ Hostel is situated 2km. from the venue on the A93 Perth – Blairgowrie road opposite the entrance to Scone Palace. The venue to hostel route is not lit. There is a pavement beside the A93 but none once you turn off towards the racecourse. Hashers are strongly advised not to walk back to the hostel in the dark / when drunk.
Accommodation. The hostel has 58 beds (each 6 feet long) arranged in pairs in alcoves off a main corridor and is not really recommended for the excessively tall or the excessively shy. There is a good sized common room / lounge and adequate toilet & shower facilities. All bedding is provided – bring your own towel.
Transport to & from Venue. On Saturday & Sunday mornings a bus will pick up from the hostel at 9.30 am in time to get you to the racecourse for breakfast. You can also be dropped off there after the Saturday and Sunday runs.
If there are sufficient numbers staying at the Jockeys’ Hostel, Pitcullen Crescent B + B’s and Skylodge Hotel (see below), it is probable that we will organise a late night minibus shuttle to get you back to bed. Cost & How to Book. The cost is £15 per person per night and the hostel is available from Thursday 27th August to Monday 1st September inclusive. Bookings for the hostel should be made directly with the racecourse.

4. Bed and Breakfasts.
Location.There are 11 B+B’s situated in a row in Pitcullen Crescent 3.5 km from the racecourse. Pitcullen Crescent starts shortly after the A93 / A94 junction and forms part of the A94 Perth to Scone / Coupar Angus road.
Transport to & from Venue. On Saturday & Sunday mornings a bus will pick up from Pitcullen Crescent at 9.25 am in time to get you to the racecourse for breakfast. You can also be dropped off there after the Saturday and Sunday runs. For other transport details see above under “Jockeys’ Hostel Transport”.
How to Book. All bookings should be direct with the B + B. Details of the Pitcullen Crescent B+B’s are as follows. The “number” is the address in Pitcullen Crescent.

August is high season still in Perth so booking is recommended by April / May 2009. Also, you can expect to pay the higher end of the scale. Inform your B + B that you will not be eating breakfast and you may get a discount but this cannot be guaranteed.
5. Skylodge Hotel.
Location. The Skylodge Hotel is part of the former RAF base at Scone Aerodrome now known as Perth Airport. It is located on the A94 Perth – Blairgowrie road and is 5.5 km. from the racecourse.
Accommodation. The hotel has 41 en suite rooms and is good value rather than luxurious. The range of rooms and current prices are as follows :--

- 3 “Basic” Double Rooms - £30 per night
- 5 Double rooms - £39.95 per night

Transport to & from Venue. It is probable that there will be a bus pick up from the main road opposite the hotel entrance at 9.15am on the Saturday & Sunday mornings ( to be confirmed).
