No incidents of note at this event.

Weedon 10K Run 10 June 1997

G6EGO Controlling.
This event went off as easily as normal the actual running time of the event was just about an hour.

Danetre Dawdle. August 18

This event was one of the wettest we had done. The route marking had been washed away in
various locations and more had to be put out on the day.

The Talkthrough unit was placed in the windmill on Newnham Hill and provided excellent coverage throughout.
70Cms from the Sports Centre into the Windmill and 2Metres out to the Mobiles and Handhelds.

There were a few missing people as always but all of them turned up before there was any real concern.

Lutterworth Triathlon. 15 Sept.

Quieter than last year.

Mencap CycleRide. 21 Sept.

We received about 2 days warning of this event and had to make do with a minimal crew. This was the first year that this event had been run and the
organiser didn't know what he was letting himself in for. It is planned to run this event next year so he should be ready by then.
The maps for this were the best we had seen with about 40 waypoints marked on the map,
5 of them checkpoints, and instructions for each of the waypoints on the back. There ware no incidents for us to deal with,
but some of the later competitors  indicated their appreciation that we were there looking after them.

Daventry 10k Run

Same As Always

The Horse Trials. November 10.

The weather was better on this event than it has been sometimes.

Unfortunately this broke our run of events free of serious incident. This was the first event with a fatality. One of the horses had a heart attack and,
if reports are correct, was dead 'before it hit the ground'. It was not directly connected with anything we had control of and we could do nothing about it.
The horse was just standing outside of its box. The vet was called out but by then there was nothing that could be done.
