1
|
Classes 1 to 18 are for members of the
Society only. Entrants should have been members of the Society for at
least three months prior to the Show date. Two entries per person Free.
|
|
2
|
Classes 19 to 34 are for members and non-members. Two
entries per person , 10p per entry.
|
|
3
|
Exhibitors should apply to the Show Secretary for their
class cards and name cards immediately on arrival at the Show. Class cards
must be placed face downwards with the appropriate entry in each class
|
|

|
All plants must have been the property of the Exhibitor
for at least three months prior to the Show. Plants must be shown in the
final pots in which they have been grown.
|
|

|
Whilst judging is in progress, all persons except Judges
and Officers of the Society officially retained, must retire from the
Show Area.
|
|
6
|
Members will be responsible for writing their own cultivar
name cards. No cards other than those issued by the Society will be permitted.
If an exhibitor does not know the name of the plant, it should be labelled
‘ Name Unknown ‘. The Judges will endeavour to give the plant its correct
name.
|
|

|
The Judge will be expected to award a First Prize,
even if there is only ONE entry in the class. If there is a tie for First
Place, the First and Second Prize money will be divided between the two
winners, and in a tie for Second Place, the Second and Third Prize money
will be equally divided.

Points will be awarded as follows :-
First - 5 points
Second - 3 points
Third - 1 point
In the event of a tie for the most points in the Show, the Award will
be given to the competitor gaining the most “ First Prizes ”.
|

|
Any protest must be made, in writing, with a fee of
50p to the Show Secretary before the official opening. Any such protest
will be considered by such members of the committee as are present and
available. Any Committee member having an interest in the dispute or objection,
cannot act. The Committee shall have the power to declare any exhibit
disqualified if a protest is upheld and their decision is final.

No exhibit or class card may be removed before the
close of the Show without the special consent and in the presence of the
Show Manager. Any infringement of this regulation will mean the forfeiture
of prize money.

|
Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken, the
Salford & Bolton Fuchsia Society will not hold themselves responsible
for any loss or damage to exhibits before, during, or after the Show.
All exhibits are shown at the exhibitors’ own risk.

|
All plants entered should be free from pests and disease.
Any plant considered by the Judge or Steward to be carrying infestation
should be reported to the Show Manager, whose decision shall be final.
|
|
13
|
Class 29 :- Unusual Container - this
class will be awarded points on a 50 : 50 basis for plant
and container.
Stewards assisting Judges should check correct entries in
class, pot sizes and heights of standards etc.
|
|
14
|
Stewards should be familiar with Judges guidelines
which are available from the Show Secretary. Stewards should not converse
with the Judges during judging and must not converse with other stewards,
but they must be ready to answer questions or clarify points if required.

|
Any matters not provided
for in these regulations will be dealt with by the Committee and their
decision shall be accepted as final.

| |
Staging
of the exhibits
may take place between 7.00pm and 9.00pm, on
Friday 10th August 2007, and between 7.00am and 9.30am, on the day of the
show, Saturday 11th August 2007. |

The
Opening of
the Show, to the general public, will be after the judging has taken place,
on Saturday 11th August 2007.
The
Presentation of the major awards and prizes
will be held on the Sunday 12th August 2007, at 2.00pm.
Prize
Money
may be collected at the show, from the Treasurer,
on Sunday 12th August 2007, at 3.00pm.
The
Removal of Exhibits
- exhibits may only
be cleared from the show on Sunday 12th August 2007, after the closing
of the show, or, earlier " by special permission and in the presence
of the Show Manager".
All personnel will be asked to clear the Show
Area at the close of the Show, to enable the Exhibitors only, to collect
their plants.

All Trophies are held
for one year, the winner giving guarantee of their safe keeping and be returned
to the Society at the following July meeting, in a clean condition, ready
for presentation at the next show.
