How to Find the Preston Brook! (Suggestions only !!!)

The pub is situated 1.2 miles from Junction 11 of the M56 so the key to finding the pub for long-distance travellers is to first find your way to the M56!

If you are travelling on the M6 from North or South leave the M6 at Junction 20 and follow the signs for Chester and North Wales (and Liverpool Airport).

If you are using M62 to travel from north of Manchester or points East leave that motorway at Junction 10 and follow signs for Birmingham. After crossing the Thelwall Viaduct, you can't miss it!!, take the second part of the next interchange (following signs for Chester and North Wales, as above).

Zetmeeters travelling from Chester or N. Wales should make their way along the M56 to J.11, the alternative through Frodsham on the A56 is not advised, unless you are familiar with the area.

Travellers from the Liverpool area should cross the Mersey at the Runcorn-Widnes bridge and follow signs for Northwich (carefully the Runcorn Expressway is notorious for sending people round in ever-decreasing circles). The A533 joins the A56 at a large roundabout and leaves it again after about a quarter of a mile (including crossing the M56) at a very small roundabout where you go straight on following the A56 the Preston Brook is then immediately on your left. (If you reach some trafficlights you've passed it!)

From Junction 11 head South (first road off if you are coming from the M6, third off if you are coming from Chester) following signs for Preston Brook. This road is the A56 follow it down the hill to the village. Please observe the speed limit there's often a car parked in the junction just before the canal bridge, dark blue Escorts and white Volvos are in this year.

Follow the A56 out of the village, through the trafficlights, and the pub will be on your right. If you reach a small roundabout go all the way round it to return along the A56 the pub will then be on your left!
