Hynish Harbour and the Signalling Tower

On the south-east corner of the island is the beautifully crafted harbour at Hynish. Built by Alan Stevenson to aid construction of the Skerryvore Lighthouse, the harbour has a sluice and reservoir to allow it to be flushed free of sand. Between the harbour and the Keepers Cottages is the Signalling Tower, contructed to allow visual communication with Skerryvore.
