Scotland's Mountains
© Gavin Shaw

If you like the Scottish Hills, particularly the North West
Highlands
or the Cairngorms, then bookmark this page. What follows is a
collection
of photos I've taken over recent years (although a few date back to
1983).
I've tried to split the pictures up roughly into geographical regions,
but due to overlap and sparse coverage in some areas, this is a bit
tenuous.
Lastly, it's only fair to point out that you are not going to see very
much unless your browser supports frames.
If these pages prompt you to take to the hills, email
me to let me know where and why.

The late Tom Weir's writings have
been an inspiration for me to visit some of the places you will find
photographed on this web site. Tom was a national treasure whose
snapshots of the land and it's people in the TV series "Weir's Way"
have inspired countless people since it's first showing in 1976.
STV/SMG have been repeating this popular series for many years, for
which Tom never received financial gain. An STV/SMG tribute to Tom and
his contribution to both the popularisation and preservation of the
Scottish landscape is long overdue. I invite you to add your name to
this online petition to persuade STV/SMG to do the right thing.
