The Ringing Stone

The Ringing Stone or Clach a' Choire is an Ice Age erratic boulder allegedly from Rhum. It is propped up on smaller stones and produces a metallic clang when struck. The stone is pitted with cup marks presumably from Stone Age musicians. Local legend has it that should the stone be split, the island of Tiree would sink without trace.
