'Alba'

White flowers, May-Jun, 5 to 8 flowers in a raceme with dark grey foliage. Compact erect spreading habit. There are several clones on the market varying chiefly in height and should be referred to as f. alba. Ht. 16-20cm. Spd. 31-45cm.

'Anderten'

White flowers, May-Jun, with blue-green leaves. It was found by Jürgen Krebs (Hoyerhagen, Germany) in about 1980 on a moor near Anderten, near Nienburg, northern Germany. Ht. 16-20cm. Spd. 31-45cm.

'Blue Ice'

The prolific attractive bell-shaped pink flowers are borne in early April are borne. The leaves are very narrow producing an interesting and attractive habit. The winter colour is steely blue and very distinctive. Originated as a seedling in a nursery in British Columbia, Canada.. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 31-45cm.

'Chuo'

Open, spreading habit and bright green foliage in the spring and summer that turns to bronze during autumn and winter. The flower are dark red fading to pink. Ht. 15cm. Spd. 25cm.

'Compacta'AGM

Clusters of shell pink flowers, May-Jun, with glaucous green foliage. Compact broad habit making a very neat mound. It was collected from the wild in Japan before 1941. Ht. 16-20cm. Spd. 26-30cm.

'Red Winter'

Primarily grown for its foliage which turns to dark reddish-brown during winter. The new growth is of a brighter, shining red but the plant is not free flowering and tends to become leggy. Sport in a Dutch nursery. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 46-60cm.

Masses of shiny pale pink flowers which gradually turn white, May-Jun, with grey foliage. Makes a neat rounded cushion. Found on Mount Shibutsusan in an alpine bog meadow, north of Tokyo, Japan. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 46-60cm.
