Double lilac pink (H11) flowers, Sep-Nov, with dark green foliage turning bronze in winter. Good double, much under-rated. More disease resistant than most of the double pink Callunas. A seedling found on Winterton Heath, Norfolk, England and named after the finder. Ht. 16-20cm. Spd. 26-30cm.

'John F. Letts'

Lavender (H3) flowers, Sep-Oct, with gold foliage in summer, bronze in autumn, red and orange in winter. Prostrate habit. Very similar to 'Golden Carpet'. Named after the then well known heather nurseryman from Windlesham, Surrey, England. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 21-25cm.

'Johnson's Variety'

Lavender (H3) flowers, Oct-Jan, with mid-green foliage. Upright habit. An outstanding late flowering Calluna found by Arthur Johnson near Hyères, southern France in February 1927. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 46-60cm.

'Josefine'

White flowers, Aug-Sep, with bright green foliage. Neat erect compact habit. Named after the sister-in-law of Anne Beirmann, friend of Kurt Kramer, the introducer, from a number of seedlings which were part of a breeding programme. Ht. 21-25cm. Spd. 31-45cm.

'Joseph's Coat'

White flowers, Aug-Oct, with mid-green foliage. The plant, when found, had racemes of pink and white flowers, hence its name, but this characteristic was soon lost. Found on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 26-30cm.
