'Pastell'

Pale pink (H8) double flowers, Sep-Nov, with grey-green foliage. Erect open habit. The colour shade of the flowers is between 'Peter Sparkes' and 'Elsie Purnell'. Sport on 'Peter Sparkes' found by Kurt Kramer (Edewecht-Süddorf, Germany) in 1984. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 46-60cm.

'Peace'

White multi-bracteate flowers, Sep-Jan, with bright green foliage. Strong upright but broad habit. This plant is the result of deliberate crossing of 'Battle of Arnhem' and 'Long White' by Kurt Kramer in Germany. Kurt Kramer passed the propagation rights to the Dutch Heather Society as a mark of respect to the famous battle of the Second World War. Ht. 46-60cm. Spd. 46-60cm.

'Peggy'

Lilac-pink flowers, Jul-Aug, with deep gold foliage, shaded bronze and red in cold weather. Low, spreading compact habit. Like 'Arran Gold' but much hardier and more reliable. Very early sprouting in spring. A seedling deliberately raised by Brita Johansson (Vargön, Sweden) but the parents not known. Named after the Johanssons' fox terrier. Ht. 16-20cm. Spd. 26-30cm.

'Penny Bun'

Pink (H8) flowers, Aug-Sep, with mid-green foliage. A vigorous compact cushion Calluna. Found among stone chippings in disused quarry, it is named after Miss Penny Ide and the bun-shape of the plant. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 31-45cm.

'Perestrojka'

Very unusual beetroot (H9) coloured multi-bracteate flowers, Sep-Nov, with dark green foliage. Erect habit. Raised in Edewecht-Süddorf. Germany, by Kurt Kramer being a deliberate cross between Calluna vulgaris 'Allegro' and Calluna vulgaris 'Battle of Arnhem', hence its name. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 46-60cm.

'Polly'

Lavender flowers, Aug-Sep, with yellow/orange foliage tinted red and bronze becoming more red in winter. Dwarf spreading habit similar to 'Multicolor'. A seedling found by R. J. Brien (Pitcairngreen Heather Farm, Perth, Scotland) by 1985. Named after Bob Brien's youngest grand-daughter. Ht. 16-20cm. Spd. 31-45cm.
