'Errigal Dusk'

Barrel shaped amethyst (H1) flowers, Aug-Sep, on dark green foliage. A strong growing plant with an upright habit. Found by Charles Nelson at Lough Nacung, Co. Donegal, Ireland and named after a nearby mountain. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 46-60cm.

'Galicia'

Deep magenta flowers, Jul-Oct, with dark green foliage. One of the most attractive and free flowering mackayanas. Found in Galicia, Spain by David McClintock, Charles Nelson and David Small during their visit in 1982 to investigate Erica andevalensis. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 46-60cm.

'Lawsoniana'

Pale pink (H8) flowers, Jul-Sep, with rather lighter green, eglandular, foliage than normal. Found in Ireland and introduced by Lawsons & Sons, Edinburgh, Scotland over 100 years ago. Progeny: 'Dr. Ronald Gray'. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 21-25cm.

'Maura'

Semi-double heliotrope (H12) flowers in profusion, Jul-Sep, with eglandular mid-grey green foliage. Much more floriferous than 'Plena'. Erect habit. Found by Maura Scannell, a member of staff at the National Botanic Gardens, Dublin, near Carna, Co. Galway, Ireland. Ht. 21-25cm. Spd. 31-45cm.

'Plena'

Double magenta (H14) flowers, Jul-Oct, with dark green foliage. Neat habit suitable for ground cover. Collected in Co. Galway, Ireland over 100 years ago. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 31-45cm.

'Shining Light'

Large white flowers, Jul-Sep, with mid-grey green foliage. Much more floriferous and vigorous than 'Dr. Ronald Gray'. A cultivar with a great deal of promise. Ht. 21-25cm. Spd. 46-60cm.

'Wm. M'Calla'

Lilac pink (H11) flowers, Jul-Sep, with dark green foliage. Spreading habit. Typical of the wild plants in Connemara collected by William M'Calla over 150 years ago. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 31-45cm.
