Erica ventricosa

A very attractive South African species reaching 90cm high and bearing a profusion of pink flowers, 12 to 16mm long during June to August in the northern hemisphere. The urn-shaped corolla is hard, dry and wax-like and has lobes which curl backwards. Very brittle with branches breaking at soil level. Not frost-hardy. Ht. 75-100cm. Spd. 46-60cm.
