The British Birds of Prey & Nature Centre lies on the A1120 Stowmarket to Yoxford road some 2 miles east of the main Ipswich to Diss A140 road signposted with English Tourist board brown signs at Stonham Earls. Turn right (east) and the centre is in Stonham Aspal at the Stonham Barns craft site.
The British Birds of Prey & Conservation Centre was established in 1995 and began life as a facility to promote the conservation of British owls and other birds of prey. The centre keeps a collection of British Birds of Prey to ensure the survival of our indigenous raptors in the event of a deterioration of the wild population with a view, with other organisations, to re-introduce any lost species. A current example would be the Red Kite re-introduction schemes in England and Scotland.

I have only visited the Centre once,in July 1999, and was impressed with the setup and potential for future development. The birds were kept in clean and tidy conditions and it was obvious their welfare came first. For further information and details of their catalogue of items for sale click on the logo below.
