Wood Sculpture from Scotland.

About the Artist.

Jim Tucker was born in Geneva, Switzerland, to English parents and has lived in Scotland for over 25 years. A research scientist by profession, he has been interested in wood carving and sculpture for over 20 years. Although without formal art training, he has studied wood carving under H. Weigang (who was for many years in charge of carving restoration at the Residenz, Munich, Germany) and under Zigi Sapietis, the Latvian sculptor working in Edinburgh. He has undertaken commissions, and exhibited in several exhibitions in Scotland. He is a member of the Scottish Artists and Artists Craftsmen (SAAC) and the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop.
