Skiff camping was very popular on the Thames up until after the second world war. The experience provides a unique and enjoyable perspective of today's river. A few specialist suppliers still provide camping skiffs for hire. This boat, Tyho, built at Richmond in 1926, is still available for camping hire at Richmond Bridge Boathouses
