Mangotsfield Old Station

Mangotsfield's first station building has survived, at the north end of the triangle of lines here. It has been spared by the road, and is currently under restoration as a dwelling. It was replaced at an early stage by the more elaborate station at the Bristol end of the triangle of lines, the better to function as an interchange. Behind the camera much of the trackbed is intact as far as the M4 crossing, beyond which it is in use as a freight line. Straight ahead can be seen the bridge featured in an earlier photograph
