The Centre

Llanrug Outdoor Education Centre is owned and run by Worcestershire County Council. It was previously the village school and then a mushroom farm. It was bought by Hereford and Worcester County Council in 1970 and then taken over by Worcestershire in 1998 when the county split back into two. It is situated in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park approximately eight miles from the summit of Snowdon and five miles from the island of Anglesey.

Llanrug has enough beds to sleep 40 students and 4 staff, in 8 dormitories. The rooms are all a reasonable size with bunk beds and draws in which to put clothing. There are hot showers and an extremely good drying room.

The centre is fully equipped to provide a full range of outdoor activities, these include mountain climbing, canoeing and kayaking, rock climbing, gorge scrambling, sea level traversing, mine exploring orienteering and rafting.
