Granny Bain rented the ground floor of a two floored building, she shared the back garden with Annie upstairs. The house used to have four rooms and the kitchen, these being the the two day rooms at the front of the house and the bedrooms a the back. The day rooms were split by a communual hall at the front. At some point in the 1970's a bathroom was added to the back of the house.
Granny generally used the right hand side of the house which gave her full access to the kitchen and bathroom. The left hand side (day room and bedroom) was used by Uncle Jimmy on one of his frequent visits or by anyone else spending the night.
This house was next door to where Uncle Alf and Auntie Mary [F23] lived (6 West Park Street), Uncle Alf used to own no. 5 West Park Street.
Granny Bain for a time worked in the kitchens at the Gordon Schools in Huntly and latterly worked as a cleaner in an office in Huntly.
