In 1982 the business began to slowly expand it's horizons. A small sawmill on the family farm at Caebardd was established. Mick Jones Timber Ltd. then started to expand at a steady pace until in 1990 there was a fulltime workforce of 6 people employed at the sawmill.

During this period two large kilns were installed to allow the production of in-house kiln dried hardwoods - these were heated by wood fired boilers fuelled using waste timber from the mill - and the mill was totally revamped with new machinery. This helped the growth which in the 90's was phenomenal and the workforce grew steadily throughout the decade and reached 14 by the end of the 90's. Coupled with this the turnover had also grown in excess of £2,500,000.

With the business expanding, new ideas and areas had to be looked into and through this period Mick Jones Timber Ltd. was exploring new avenues open to it and the move towards the production of traditional solid wood flooring was initially made.

Production of solid wood flooring began in 1996. This has now grown to the point where production has reached around 2000 - 3000m2 per month and this has elevated the company to one of the leading producers of traditional oak flooring in the UK today. This traditional oak flooring is especially suited to period properties and barn conversions.

With the new onsite showroom now open you can come and now come and see the products in all states of production from felled trunks to sanded boards laid in our purpose built showrooms. Mick Jones Timber Ltd. is one of the only companies to fell the timber, cut, prepare, finish and fit the finished product giving a first class service throughout.
