This was one of the last hymns set to music by the well-known and pioneering modern hymn-writer Fr Gerard Beaumont (a long term friend of Reflection), and resulted from a hymn competition that he had been delighted to judge.

He introduced it to us as we were planning to record an album with him, "Beaumont Meets Reflection", just before he left England for his final posting with the Community of the Resurrection in South Africa.

An MP3 of that recording can be downloaded by clicking here.

Despite efforts, it has not proved possible to contact the Lesley Ellison, whose rights are nevertheless protected.

Words (by Lesley Ellison)

When I look around me, Lord, I find you everywhere,
Silently repaying love with love beyond compare.
In my neighbours one by one yourself concealed I see:
"What you do unto the least I take as done for me."

When I look around me, Lord, I find you everywhere
Silently repaying love with love beyond compare.
Meeting here in mutual love your presence we can share:
"Meet together in my name and I am always there."

When I look around me, Lord, I find you everywhere
Silently repaying love with love beyond compare.
Sharing in this bread and wine, our life in you is sure(*):
"Offer this in memory of me for evermore."

When I look around me, Lord, I find you everywhere
Silently repaying love with love beyond compare.
Enter deeply in my soul until my old self dies;
Then your love will always shine in me before men's eyes.

(*) Alternative words: your presence we adore:
