Dull News

To bore you all to death, I'll start with page170 view stats. According to the great people at LE Fastcounter hits for the site have dropped from the usuall 57-68 weekly to 49 weekly. Hopefully it's just a one off........

Also, if you click on that Nedstat thing at the bottom of the index, then you'll see that I've had one page view from Korea of all places..............

IRC oddness

The offical IRC meet on a Saturday has been moved to a Sunday (more info at Communicate!). This spells the end of me popping up in #digi-98 now and again. Thanks to the timing of the thing, I'm unlikly to be able to get anywhere near the PC while your all spouting nonsense (Well.... you know) to each other. Not that I have a problem with it, though. It's not my meet.....

As for the "new" #digi channel, the whole idea's pointless and idiotic. Why have two channels when it's much easier to keep one going? Sad, sad, sad.......

Dreamcast

SEGA will die in 2000. Oh yes it will. And I'll tell you why. Look here......

If you look at the planned release times of the Dreamcast, the PS/2 and the possible N2000, you'll see that Sega's new baby will be released incredibly early compared to everyone elses systems. Fuck, the PS/2 and the Nintendo 2000 thingy arn't even ready yet. No announcements have been made about either. Yes, Dreamcast looks VERY good (even with the involvement of MicroShit) but didn't the 3DO and the Jag around 1993 (easily comparable to now, ish....)? The Playstation & N64 markets will both last several years yet, even with the release of the Dreamcast.

Not many will buy it, either. Games will still be made for the PS during the DC's release, and the price will most probably be hidiously high - the japanese economy will see to that, somehow......

Windoze98

Where were the adverts? Where was the mass Murd(er)och-aided publicity? Where's the games? Where's the frontline news reports? Where were the partys? Is Microsoft's publicity machine dead?

Whatever the situation, the thing still sold, rather well. Personally, I won't touch it with a barge pole, but some idiots found it in their hearts to wait in the wind and rain and give Mr Gates some extra cash. I hope those sad, sad people see their registrys die infront of them. It's a bad example to the rest of the industry..........

And did anyone notice that we were repeatly fed the same clip of Nerdy Americans rushing (probably for their backhanders) indoors to buy a copy of W98? Where was the Ak-47?

Project X

Before I go, P-X sounds supiciously crafty, I'm surprised Digi hasn't picked up on the weirdness of this project. The idea (if you happen to have not read edge of late) is that a chipset will be shoved into masses of domestic DVD players being sold in america. In effect, Project X will become DVD Interactive, and not a console at all. It could easily crush the Dreamcast, think, you get a Movie Player, a CD player and a fucking good Games system to boot. It will be intresting at the very least......
